In recognition of Electrical Safety Month this May, Travis Electrical Service is encouraging all customers to prioritize electrical safety in their homes and workplaces. Partnering with the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI), Travis Electrical Service aims to raise awareness about the importance of electrical safety and provide valuable tips to prevent electrical hazards.
According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), electrical failures or malfunctions are a leading cause of home fires in the United States. Each year, approximately 51,000 home electrical fires occur, resulting in nearly 500 deaths, more than 1,400 injuries, and $1.3 billion in property damage. Furthermore, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports that electrical hazards cause more than 300 fatalities and 4,000 injuries in the workplace annually.
"Electrical safety is a critical issue that affects everyone," said Chris Travis, President of Travis Electrical Service. "Our goal is to educate our community about the risks associated with electrical work and provide practical advice to keep families and workers safe. By following safety guidelines and taking preventive measures, we can significantly reduce the number of electrical-related incidents."
